People do not like to be deceived. Intentional or unintentional deception quickly breaks the bonds of trust. It inflicts damage upon the soul.
One would think that in this day and age the most egregious deception comes from the government lying to the people or the educational establishment attempting to re-write history to formulate a certain worldview in impressionable minds.
But, there is a form of deception that is even more insidious. It is from those who pretend to support and agree with a Biblical worldview to gain our trust to sell us things, and only upon reaching a certain popularity and success is their true character revealed.
Who are these deceivers? “Christian” music artists from Jennifer Knapp to Vicky Beeching to Ray Boltz and supporting casts of Amy Grant, Jars of Clay frontman Dan Haseltine and Hillsong Music among others.
These and others have pretended to be Bible-believers as they hawk their wares to starry-eyed Christians eager to have their ears filled with calculated trance-inducing words and melodies.
These musical false prophets make merchandise of such souls and only after they gain their trust and their money, do they bring in their damnable heresies by declaring that they are homosexuals or that they support same-sex “marriage.”
