Let’s take a quick look at today’s prophecy-related headlines which point towards the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and the end of the world as we know it.
1. The Israeli military said it had mobilized some 13,000 soldiers for an unannounced drill in the occupied West Bank, in the first such exercise in three years.
2. Iraq’s army and Shi’ite militia have launched a long-awaited offensive against the Islamic State in a stronghold of the radical Islamist fighters north of Baghdad.
3. An Israeli Defense Forces official stated that Gaza-based terror group Hamas is working vigorously to prepare for its next confrontation with Israel.
4. Italy began annual naval exercises this week near the coast of Libya, where a breakdown in order has allowed tens of thousands of migrants to try to reach Europe by boat and increased fears of attacks by Islamist militants.
5. The US spy chief says Russia wants to secure a land corridor in eastern Ukraine that could include Mariupol but pro-Moscow rebels may wait until the spring to attack the strategic port city.

The prophetic passage of Scripture we are looking at today is Numbers 24:17-19 which reads: “I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly. Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.”
